Last Updated: August 10, 2026This Privacy Policy applies to the Union Member Assistant mobile application ("Union Member Assistant," the "App") distributed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or other authorized distribution channels.## 1. About Union Member AssistantUnion Member Assistant is designed to assist users with organizing and managing information related to workplace investigations, grievances, collective bargaining agreements, disciplinary matters, and workplace representation activities.The App is an organizational and reference tool.Unless expressly stated otherwise, Union Member Assistant is an independent software application developed by Cory Johnson and is not a law firm, legal service, labor organization, employer, or representative of any employer or labor organization.## 2. Information Users May Enter or StoreDepending upon how the App is used, users may voluntarily enter, create, import, or store information including:- Employee names
- Employee identification information
- Work locations
- Job classifications
- Supervisor or management names
- Investigation information
- Questions and answers
- Disciplinary information
- Grievance information
- Dates and descriptions of workplace events
- Notes regarding workplace incidents
- Photographs
- PDF documents
- Audio recordings
- Collective bargaining agreements
- Workplace documents
- Other information voluntarily entered, created, or imported by the userSome of this information may constitute personal, confidential, or sensitive workplace information.Users should only enter, import, record, possess, or store information that they are legally and otherwise authorized to possess and use.## 3. Information Collected by the DeveloperInformation that a user enters or stores locally within Union Member Assistant is not automatically transmitted to or collected by Cory Johnson merely because the user uses the App.If future versions of Union Member Assistant introduce services that transmit information to Cory Johnson or third-party services, this Privacy Policy and applicable App Store or Google Play privacy disclosures will be updated as necessary.## 4. Local Device StorageUnion Member Assistant may store investigation records, grievance records, settings, attachments, imported documents, and other App information locally on the user's device.Locally stored information remains under the control of the user's device and operating system.Cory Johnson does not automatically receive access to information solely because it is stored locally within the App.## 5. Cloud Storage and BackupIf the user enables cloud synchronization, device backup, or cloud-storage functionality, information may be stored or processed using services provided by the user's platform provider, such as Apple iCloud, Google services, or another service selected by the user.Information stored through these services is also subject to the terms and privacy practices of the applicable service provider.Use of a personal cloud account does not, by itself, provide Cory Johnson with access to the user's stored records.## 6. Camera and PhotographsUnion Member Assistant may request access to the device's camera or photo library when a user chooses functionality involving photographs.Camera access may allow a user to photograph documentation and attach the photograph to an investigation or other record.Photo-library access may allow a user to select an existing photograph for attachment to a record.These features are activated by the user.## 7. Files and DocumentsUnion Member Assistant may allow users to select, import, create, export, or store files and documents.This may include PDF documents, collective bargaining agreements, investigation materials, grievance materials, or other workplace documents.Access to files is used to provide functionality requested by the user.## 8. Microphone and Audio RecordingsUnion Member Assistant may request microphone access when the user chooses to use an audio-recording feature.Audio recordings may contain personal or sensitive information.Users are solely responsible for complying with applicable recording laws, consent requirements, workplace policies, collective bargaining agreements, and other requirements before recording a conversation.The availability of recording functionality does not constitute authorization or legal permission to record another person.## 9. Face ID, Biometrics, and Device AuthenticationUnion Member Assistant may provide security features that use authentication functionality provided by the user's device or operating system.On supported Apple devices this may include Face ID or Touch ID. Android devices may provide fingerprint, facial, PIN, password, or other supported authentication mechanisms.Biometric authentication is performed through the device's operating system.Union Member Assistant and Cory Johnson do not receive or store the user's underlying fingerprint, facial scan, Face ID data, or other biometric template merely because device authentication is used.## 10. PIN ProtectionUnion Member Assistant may allow users to protect access to the App using a PIN or similar security feature.Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their PINs, passwords, devices, and accounts.## 11. Sharing and Exporting InformationUnion Member Assistant may provide functionality that allows users to voluntarily:- Export records
- Generate PDF documents
- Share files
- Send information through email
- Print records
- Save files to another location
- Transfer editable records
- Share information using applications or services installed on their deviceInformation is shared through these functions only when the user initiates the applicable action.Once information leaves Union Member Assistant, its subsequent handling may be controlled by the recipient, destination application, operating system, cloud provider, email provider, or other service selected by the user.Users should carefully review information before exporting or sharing it.## 12. Third-Party ServicesCertain Union Member Assistant features may rely upon services supplied by Apple, Google, the device manufacturer, operating-system provider, email provider, cloud-storage provider, or other services selected by the user.Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.If Union Member Assistant incorporates third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, cloud, or similar SDKs or services in the future, this Privacy Policy and applicable platform disclosures will be updated as appropriate.## 13. Sale of Personal InformationCory Johnson does not sell personal or sensitive user information entered into Union Member Assistant.## 14. AdvertisingUnless otherwise disclosed in an updated version of this Privacy Policy, Cory Johnson does not use information contained within users' investigation or grievance records for targeted advertising.## 15. Data SecurityUnion Member Assistant may provide security features intended to reduce unauthorized access, including device authentication and PIN protection.Information may also receive security protections provided by iOS, Android, device hardware, and applicable cloud services.Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by the App. However, no device, software application, electronic storage system, cloud service, or security mechanism can guarantee absolute security.Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their devices, accounts, passwords, PINs, exported files, and backups.## 16. Data RetentionInformation stored locally within Union Member Assistant generally remains on the user's device until:- The user deletes the applicable record or information;
- The user deletes the App and its locally stored data;
- The operating system removes the information; or
- Another user-initiated action removes the information.Information stored through a cloud or backup service may remain according to the user's account settings and the applicable provider's retention policies.Cory Johnson does not independently retain a server-side copy of locally stored information unless a feature expressly informs the user that information will be transmitted or stored remotely.## 17. Deleting InformationUsers may delete records and information using available functionality within Union Member Assistant.Users may also be able to remove locally stored App information through their device's operating-system controls, including deleting the App and associated local data.Information previously exported, emailed, printed, backed up, or transferred outside Union Member Assistant may need to be separately deleted from the destination where it was stored.Cloud backups or synchronized copies are subject to the controls and policies of the applicable cloud provider.## 18. User AccountsIf Union Member Assistant does not require creation of an online account, there is no Union Member Assistant server account requiring deletion.If a future version introduces user accounts, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain account-related data practices and users will be provided with applicable mechanisms for requesting deletion of their accounts and associated information.## 19. User Control and PermissionsUsers may control certain permissions through their device settings.Depending on the operating system and App functionality, this may include access to the:- Camera
- Photos
- Microphone
- Files
- Biometrics or device authenticationRevoking a permission may prevent the associated feature from functioning but should not prevent use of unrelated App functionality where technically possible.## 20. Children's PrivacyUnion Member Assistant is designed for workplace and labor-representation activities and is not directed toward children.The App does not knowingly solicit personal information from children.## 21. International UsersPrivacy and data-protection requirements vary by jurisdiction.Users are responsible for using the App consistently with applicable requirements in their jurisdiction.Where applicable privacy law provides users with additional rights that cannot legally be waived, those rights remain unaffected by this Privacy Policy.## 22. Changes to This Privacy PolicyThis Privacy Policy may be updated when App functionality, data-handling practices, platform requirements, or applicable laws change.The "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy will be revised when the policy is updated.Material changes may also be communicated through the App or other appropriate means when required.## 23. Platform DistributionUnion Member Assistant may be distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play.Apple and Google operate their respective application marketplaces independently and may separately collect information related to downloads, purchases, device information, diagnostics, and use of their marketplace services.Information collected independently by Apple or Google is governed by their respective privacy policies.
